Shared tabs on BotChain
One tab for the trip, the flat, the group order. Everyone logs what they paid, the tab keeps score, and when it's time to settle you pay once — not once per person.
No sign-up. No app store. Bring a wallet and you're in.
How it works
Name it, drop in everyone's address, done. Trips, flatmates, the team lunch rota — anything a group pays for in pieces.
Amount, a note, and who it was for. Split it evenly or hand someone a bigger slice. Nothing moves yet — the tab is just keeping score.
When you're ready, Evenly works out the shortest run of payments that makes everyone whole. Pay your one line, collect what's yours.
The clever bit
Four people who all owe each other is six awkward transfers, and half of them cancel out. Evenly nets everything against everything first, then hands each person a single line to pay.
Fewer payments, less gas, and no group chat archaeology to work out who's up.
Why it stays honest
Every entry is on the tab in the open, with who paid, who it was for, and when.
Anyone an entry was split between can flag it for 72 hours. Enough flags and it comes off, exactly reversed.
Bigger room, bigger slice. Give anyone a heavier share and the maths follows along.
You can leave a tab the moment you're square — and not one minute before.
Made for
One person books the house, another rents the van, everyone eats. Sort it on the flight home.
Bills, the broken boiler, the third IKEA run this month. Running total, no spreadsheet.
Tickets, the big order, the group gift. Whoever fronted it doesn't have to chase anyone.
Questions
No. Logging is just bookkeeping — it records who's ahead and who's behind. Money only moves when someone chooses to settle.
Whoever added it can pull it back within 72 hours. So can the people it was split between: if enough of them flag it, it comes off the tab and the books go back exactly as they were.
Usually not. Debts are cancelled against each other first, so most people end up with a single payment to make — or a single amount to collect.
Their position stays on the tab for everyone to see, and they can't quietly walk away — leaving a tab is only possible from a square position.
Evenly takes nothing. You only pay BotChain's network fee for the transactions you send.
Only if you want them to. Tabs are invite-only by default; you can flip one open if you'd rather share a link.
Open a tab in under a minute, add your people, and let it keep the books until it's time to settle.
